Cohort of Low-Income Middle Schools in the Program for Six Years

The number of eighth graders at Program schools who scored Proficient or Advanced levels in math exceeded the proposal targets on the California Standards Test in both years that this assessment was administered during this grant cycle;

The number of students who met or exceeded standards on the Smarter Balanced Assessment in math grew slightly from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (no targets were set because the state assessment instrument was changed after the proposal was submitted);

More students enrolled in college preparatory courses in order to attend a baccalaureate granting institution than did so before participation in this Program; and,

More families believed that their children should plan on attending college and knew the ways in which they could support them to do so.
