The Bridge Model

The Bridge Model serves to strengthen the connections among all schools in a local high school feeder pattern and assists with inter-segmental transitions.

The Bridge Project serves to strengthen the connections among all schools in a local high school feeder pattern and assists with intersegmental transitions. Data will be collected to measure the impact on student achievement and retention and will provide valuable information about the importance of aligning curriculum, increased communication across educational levels, and the ability for California GEAR UP to assist in sustaining a college-going culture.

Program Goals

  • Increase graduation rate, A-G completion rates, and increase college readiness
  • Increase the number of students achieving at grade-appropriate levels in math and English/Language Arts
  • Strengthen connections among K-12 staff and college
  • Data sharing that impacts student opportunities and access to higher education

  • Rigorous academic instruction for all students, with regular and timely support for struggling students in the cohort
  • Support expanded opportunities for articulation and system-building
  • Strengthen student transitions along the feeder pattern-6th grade, 8th grade, and 12th grade
  • Re-imagine student engagement through Professional Development to staff, student value and buy-in, and solidifying a connection to school
  • Increase college readiness-access to rigorous courses, dual enrollment, SAT preparation and participation, and interventions to support academic achievement
  • Coordination of articulation efforts along feeder patterns
  • Increase awareness of Career Technical Education Pathways to develop 21st Century Skills
